This unusual walnut sideboard or server is in the Aesthetic or Eastlake style. The sideboard is comprised of two pieces for ease in moving. The interesting back board has 2 shelves supported by boldly turned columns. Notice the design in the recessed panels which are repeated on the doors below. The top of the base has original inset tiles in colors of blue, white and plum. Two of the tiles have a crack which does not distract from its charm. The tile top is beneficial when serving drinks or hot and cold foods. The base has 3 hand dovetailed drawers and 2 doors. All have their original locks with key. Behind each door is a single removable shelf. The sideboard retains its original finish which is in excellent condition having a deep rich color and patina.
