This solid walnut cylinder roll desk is from the Renaissance Revival Victorian period. The cylinder roll has 2 recessed panels and is designed to roll back exposing a pull out writing surface. The surface is covered in replaced, dark green leather. Inside are 11 various sized cubbies and 3 small drawers for storage. The drawers retain their original cast brass ring pulls. Below the writing surface are 2 drawers having their original brass pulls and burled walnut panels on their fronts. One drawer retains its original lock. Below the drawers are 2 side doors and a cleverly designed recessed door in the center. The 2 side doors have a delicately incised floral design along the outside frames and applied panels of burled walnut. All 3 doors have their original working lock and a key. The left side door has a single shelf and the recessed center door has 3 shelves. The sides of the desk base have double recessed panels as well. There is a board missing on the back of the desk which is not seen but we will arrange to have that replaced. The finish is in excellent condition having a warm color and desirable patina. 46"h X 49"w X 22"d, Condition: Excellent, Circa: 1870's.
