This tall, wall hanging clock was made by the Ansonia Clock Co. and was referred to as the Capitol. The mahogany Victorian style case has a domed top with 3 finely carved finials and a painted cast metal head of Columbia. Notice the applied half columns and finials on the front of the case and the carved base. The case has glass front and sides. The clock face is an older appropriate replacement and in excellent condition. The clock is spring driven and comes with its brass key. The hands are also original. The clock retains its original 8 day works and is in excellent running condition. The clock will need to be wound once a week. The long pendulum is an older replacement. The case is in excellent condition having a warm, rich color and patina. 52"h X 15"w X 7"d, Condition: Excellent, Circa: 1880's.
