This custom made oak serving table was made by the prestigious firm Hayden Company of New York City. They were renowned for their craftsmanship and design. The table’s size is perfect as a server/buffet or behind a sofa. The solid oak plank top has breadboard ends and extended overhang. The design mimics the design and construction of 17th century feudal or William & Mary styles. There is a deep, narrow center drawer flanked by small doors. The fronts of all are deeply carved. There is an attached maker’s label on the inside of the drawer. The doors have a carved profile of a man wearing a hat and each is different. Check out the unique handmade iron pull, latches and exposed hinges – incredible! Even the sides of the cabinet have a carved classic early design pattern called linen fold. The case rests on boldly turned legs and thick stretchers. The cabinet is extremely stout and sturdy. It retains its original finish which is in excellent condition having a rich patina. 28"h X 53"w X 21"d, Condition: Excellent, Circa: 1940".
