This exceptionally deep walnut frame is from the Victorian period. These were generally referred to as shadow box frames and were often used to display 3 dimensional objects such as wax figures, hair wreaths, feather wreaths, etc. This frame contains a dried floral arrangement which is in excellent condition. There are a few loose dried seeds or leaves. The round frame is made of wide, walnut mouldings and inside are 2 gold gilt liners. All are in excellent, original condition. Even the glass is original. The frame has a deep, rich color and patina. 15"h X 15"w X 3.25"d, Condition: Excellent, Circa: 1860-1870's.
