This walnut Victorian 3 part bookcase is in the Aesthetic style. The cabinet comes apart in 3 main pieces for ease in moving. Each section has an ornately carved gallery with delicately turned spindles. There is a small wooden ball missing on the back left corner of the center section. It is hardly noticeable and does not distract from its presence. Notice the 5 recessed panels with incised carvings below the center section gallery. All 3 doors retain their original working locks and a key. The shapely glass is original and in excellent condition. Check out the unusual fancy cast brass strap hinges on the end sections – very cool. Each end section has 4 adjustable shelves and the center section has 3 adjustable larger shelves. Each unit has a drawer at the base with incised carvings. All retain their original working locks and brass key escutcheons. The end sections have period correct replaced brass ring pulls. The finish is original and in excellent condition having a rich color and very desirable patina. 79"h X 66"w X 16"d, Condition: Excellent, Circa: 1870's.
