This set of 6 solid oak dining chairs consists of 5 side chairs and 1 armchair. The side chairs measure 41” tall, 20” wide and 21” deep. The armchair measures 42.5” tall, 23” wide and 22.5” deep. The set is quite substantial and very well made. The top crest is deeply and extensively carved. Notice the well carved shell design along the back. The chairs are covered in leather like green material. The back upholstered panels are secured with traditional brass tacks. One of the side chairs has a replaced fabric with a very similar leather look. This is only noticeable when pointed out. The chairs have a wooden stretcher system which reinforces the legs and allows for more heavy use of the chairs. They rest on boldly carved paw feet. Their finish is in excellent condition. All the chairs are tight and sturdy. Condition: Excellent, Circa: 1880's.
