This handsome mahogany footstool is from the Empire period. Notice the dramatic flame mahogany graining along the ogee molded frame and feet. There is a design of a winged insect, such as a moth, on the celery colored tone on tone silk feeling fabric. The upholstered top lifts out to easily recover. The frame is in excellent condition and the finish has a rich color and patina. The upholstery is also in excellent condition. 16"h X 25"w X 20.5"d, Condition: Excellent, Circa: 1830-1840's.
