This sewing cabinet is unusual because it is made of solid quarter sawn oak. This style cabinet is most commonly found in mahogany and veneered. The shapely top has 2 hinged lift lids to access deep storage compartments. These were used to store fabric, knitting needles, etc. There are 2 small drawers over 2 larger drawers. All have their original wooden knobs. The chest rests on tall slender, tapered legs. The finish is in excellent condition and the cabinet is well built. 30"h X 30"w X 16"d, Condition: Excellent, Circa: 1900.
