This Dutch inlaid stand can be used as a hall or entryway piece, pier table or console. The mahogany frame is finely inlaid with contrasting woods such as cherry and satinwood. The dramatic design is of trailing flowers and scrolling acanthus leaves. Each piece is individually cut and recessed into the surrounding wood. The top has a recessed mirror with a hand dovetailed drawer below. The drawer has its original lock. Notice the serpentine shaped front legs inlaid on 3 sides. The mirrored back reflects the beautiful inlay on the serpentine shaped shelf below. The console retains its original finish which is in excellent condition having a rich color and patina. There are a few very minor veneer chips scattered throughout which is common and to be expected from furniture of this style and period. 32.25"h X 35.25"w X 15"d, Condition: Very Good to Excellent, Circa: 1860's.
