This figural silver plated Victorian napkin ring was made by Meriden & Company. The personalized napkin ring is engraved Ella which would have been the original owner. Figural napkin rings were extremely popular during the Victorian times and were used to distinguish one’s own cloth napkin on the dining table. The ornately Chased ring has a stylized design of flowers and leaves resting on 2 cast butterflies. The base is an oriental fan with additional chase work. There is some light silvering loss on the napkin ring which is to be expected. The napkin ring is in excellent condition. 2.5"h X 4.25"w X 3.25"d, Condition: Excellent, Circa: 1880's.
