This classical dresser or chest of drawers is inlaid and constructed of various exotic woods, such as French walnut, satinwood and rosewood. The removable mirror has delicately inlaid half columns with gilded plinths applied to the top and sides of the frame. The dresser top has line inlay and a dramatic burled walnut panel. Below are 2 hand dovetailed ogee shaped drawer fronts which have fine inlay of scrolling vines and leaves. The drawers retain their original locks. Below are 3 hand dovetailed drawers repeating the same delicate inlaid design. Each has its original cast brass ring pull and lock. Notice the elegant fully turned columns on each front corner of the cabinet. Even the sides are banded inlaid using burled walnut and delicate satinwood line inlay. Both sides have age cracks which is common with single board construction. The cracks do not affect the integrity of the piece. The chest of drawers rests on ball beet. The finish appears original and is in excellent condition having a very rich color and patina. 71.5"h X 41"w x 23"d, Condition: Very Good, Circa: 1880's.
