This large mantle clock has its original French 8 day movement. The all marble case has gold incised decoration of trailing vines and leaves. There are hand painted tile panels of outdoor courting scenes on either side of the clock face. The marble is in remarkable condition. There is a minor 1/8” chip on the lower left front. Also, there is a minor repair on the very top platform left side at the back. This only visible upon very close scrutiny. Neither are a distraction and hardly worth mentioning. The finish on the marble is still bright and crisp. The brass bezel has a beveled glass front. The gold gilt face has black enameled numbers, original hands and a wonderful exposed escapement. The original movement is in excellent working condition. The clock requires winding once a week and strikes every hour. The clock comes with its winding key and pendulum. What an elegant clock to grace your home or office. 10"h X 22.25"w X 5.75"d, Circa: 1870's, Condition: Excellent.
