This inlaid marble mantel clock is from the Victorian Egyptian Revival period. This fabulous clock is marked A Stowell & Co., Boston, Massachusetts, which was a highly respected and recognized jewelry and clock shop. The clock has a gold gilt decorative bezel and a dramatic black porcelain dial with inlaid marble in its center. The hands and clock works are all original. The clock strikes every hour and half hour. The 8-day movement requires winding only once a week and is in excellent working condition. The dramatic looking case is made of slate and is inlaid and accented with grey, black and cream variegated marble. Check out the incised Egyptian designs accented in gold and silver.
