This lovely two piece silver plated fish service set consists of a 12.5" long knife and a 9.5" long fork. These were extremely popular during the Victorian period, especially since formal dining always included a fish course. The set is marked and was made by Allen and Darwin of Sheffield, England. Their handles are made of bone. Check out the beautifully rendered design of delicate looking ginkgo leaves on the knife blade and fork. The silvering is in excellent condition with a slight loss on the back of the fork. They come in their original velvet lined case. The box is in poor condition, but the velvet is still good. What a lovely set to grace your table setting. Condition: Excellent, Circa: 1890's.
