Check out this adorable child's pedal toy with pony and cart. The horse has an actual fur hide over a wooden body. Notice the carved wooden hooves and glass eyes. The nose and mouth are covered in leather as well. Notice the leather bridle and strapping around the face and extending along the body to its real tail. The front of the galloping pony rests on a small wheel and back is attached to the sulky or cart. There are 2 leather reigns which are attached at the base of the neck and allows the driver to steer. The cart has a steel frame with a fabric covered seat and 2 wheels. In front of the seat are 2 pedals which are adjustable to accommodate different lengths in children's legs. Notice the fenders covering the back wheels and the chain guard. The toy is designed for a child to sit and pedal with their feet which activates the chain and moves the wheels – just like a bicycle. The pony and cart are in working condition. Look closely and you will see there are some small areas of fur loss on the pony. Otherwise, he is structurally sound and in excellent condition. The cart has some paint loss and mild rust around the rims. The seat fabric has some tears and staining. This would take minor restoration if you desire it to be like new or leave as is and enjoy its tell signs of play and use. 30"h X 21"w X 55"d, Condition: Good, Circa: 1920's.
