This handsome English mahogany period chest of drawers is in the Hepplewhite style. It is in remarkable original condition. The top has some minor rubs which is to be expected and do not detract from its presence. There are 2 small drawers over 4 large drawers which graduate in size. All the hand dovetailed drawers have delicate cock beading along their edges. Amazingly, all the drawers retain their original oval brasses, key escutcheons and working locks! The chest is extremely well constructed which is evident in how smoothly all the drawers open and close. Notice the wonderful rich graining on the drawer fronts and the shapely skirt between the tall splayed legs. The finish on the chest of drawers is in excellent condition having a rich color and desirable patina. There are several very tiny veneer chips which are only noticeable upon very close inspection. Chest of drawers, such as this also works well as a buffet or server in a dining room. 46"h X 49"w X 23"d, Condition: Excellent, Circa: 1820's.
