Victorian silver plated bride’s baskets were the rage during the 1870-1890’s. They generally were comprised of 2 pieces, a silver frame and a fancy glass bowl. The frame is marked Meriden Silver Company. The frame has a pierced decorative handle and base. There is silvering loss on the frame. The ornate cased glass bowl has a ruffled edge, ribbed bottom and delicately hand painted design inside and out. The deep pink colored glass fades to pale pink towards the bottom. The glass insert is in excellent condition. 14"h X 12.5"w X 11"d, Condition: Very Good, Circa: 1880's.
