This solid walnut, heavily carved sideboard has many unique features and is extremely well made. The buffet has one large dovetailed drawer flanked by 2 small doors. All have applied mouldings with dramatic wood graining on their fronts. Notice the finely cast brass pulls on the drawer with faces of Bacchus. On the corners of the sideboard and between the doors are intricate carvings of a garland of fruit tied together with a bow. Below each door is a beautiful carving of a face with wings. The angel is framed in delicate acanthus leaf carvings. These are actually the front of drawers! Inside each are 3 separate compartments lined in velvet for storing your silver flatware. Below the central long drawer are more bold carvings of acanthus leaves. The sideboard rests on heavily carved scrolled legs with a box stretcher below. The finish is original and in excellent condition, having a warm color and patina. 35"h X 76"w X 22"d, Condition: Excellent, Circa: 1920's.
