This early solid walnut cupboard uses mortised and pegged construction throughout. The top has a framed and moulded edge. The 2 hand-dovetailed drawers have replaced Hepplewhite style pulls. Originally, the drawers had a single round pull. Below are 2 tall doors with double raised and recessed panels. Inside is a single shelf and supports for another shelf if desired. The top shelf is removable. The sides have 4 recessed panels. Notice the boldly shaped skirt below the tall block feet. Check out the panel construction on the back. The cupboard's size and depth make it perfect for holding a TV, as a kitchen cabinet and other practical uses. What a treat to find this in walnut rather than your more typical soft woods. The cabinet has a warm color and rich patina. 62.5"h X 43.75"w X 20"d, Condition: Excellent, Circa: 1800-1830's.
