Here is a hard to find matching pair of Louis XVI style mahogany stands. Due to their size and design, they could easily serve a variety of purposes, such as night stands, end tables, dining room servers, hall stands or on either side of a fireplace. The shaped marble is original. Both are free of stains. One has a small chip along the bottom front edge otherwise they are in excellent condition. Each has 4 small hand dovetailed drawers with their original locks and cast brass key escutcheons. On either side of the drawers are doors which open to reveal a single adjustable shelf. Notice the cast brass decoration applied to the outside corners of the cabinets. The stands rest on tall slender turned legs with brass caps. Look closely and you will notice a cap is missing on one foot of a front leg. This does not affect its function and hardly noticeable. Their finish is in excellent condition. 38"h X 31.5"w X 15"d, Condition: Excellent, Circa: 1880's.
