This ornately carved mahogany dresser has a matching bed which we are selling separately. The matching bed can be used as a double bed or as a queen size bed. The dresser was most likely made by the highly regarded R.J. Horner Company of New York City. The dresser and mirror are extremely curvaceous. The deep and ornate carvings on the crest on the mirror are repeated on the front and along the bottom of the dresser base. The original beveled glass mirror pivots for ease in viewing. Notice the ornately cast brass mirror supports and drawer pulls. There are 3 serpentine shaped drawers over 2 long serpentine shaped drawers. All the drawers retain their original working locks and brass key. The top center drawer is velvet lined. All the drawers have cherry for their secondary wood – a true indication of quality. All the drawers open and close smoothly. The dresser rests on finely carved paw feet and its original casters. Notice how even the sides are serpentine and curvaceous. The dresser retains its original finish which is in excellent condition. 81"h X 54"w X 25"d, Condition: Excellent, Circa: 1880's.
