This fancy walnut wall pocket is from the Victorian era. These were extremely popular and were designed to hang on the wall and store such everyday items as magazines, whisk brooms, etc. The carvings are detailed and exuberant. The carved leaves extend from the top to the sides of the back frame. The front panel repeats the leaf look with incised carvings. The ‘pocket’ has blue velvet sides which allow room to expand for storage. The wooden frame and fabric are in excellent condition. 22"h X 13"w X 2"-6"d, Condition: Excellent, Circa: 1860's.
