Here is a hard to find pair of large walnut Victorian frames in a shadow box style. They are of superb quality and in remarkable condition. The deeply set frames have a walnut surround decorated with gold incising at each corner. Each glass is original. Inside the glass is an ornately scribed and gilded moulding against an ebonized background. The early photos are set in gilded arched shaped liners. The original portraits are of a man and a woman, most likely husband and wife. The portraits are in excellent condition with only subtle foxing. The frames' condition, both the wood and inside liners, are in excellent, original condition. Each has its original eyehook on the top for hanging. 27"h X 21.5"w X 3.25"d, Condition: Excellent, Circa: 1870's.
