This sweet cottage style Victorian dresser is of mixed woods comprising of walnut with bird's eye and tiger maple, making it appear quite dramatic. The curvaceous mirror frame tilts and swivels. The mirror is original with some silvering loss along the edges. There are 2 small hand dovetailed glove boxes on either side of the mirror. Below are 4 more hand-dovetailed drawers having their original locks. All the drawers have highly figured maple fronts and their original turned walnut pulls. There is a small section of cock beading missing on the left side of the 3rd drawer and the right side of the 2nd drawer. This is only visible upon close examination and does not affect the workings of the drawers. All the drawers open and close smoothly. Notice the applied carvings and panels of figured maple on the corners of the dresser. The base of the dresser has fancy scrolled design along the feet. The left side of the dresser has an age crack, which is common with wide single board construction. The dresser retains its original finish, which is in excellent condition having a rich color and warm patina. 77"h X 40"w X 19.5"d, Condition: Very Good, Circa: 1860's.
