This ebonized Asian or oriental style Victorian period cabinet has some fascinating detail. The 4 doors have mother of pearl designs in each corner and a recessed panel. Inside each panel is a floral design using applied pieces of ivory. Each door has some very minor pieces of ivory missing. This is only noticeable upon very close inspection. Notice the unusual concave shaped narrow door to the upper right. All the doors have their original cast brass key escutcheons and brass locks. Each door is lined inside with bird's eye maple. Notice the many delicately carved corner braces. This display or étegère rests on tall slender feet with delicately carved designs on the knees. The cabinet retains its original finish, which is in excellent condition. What a wonderful cabinet to store and display your collection. 63"h X 34"w X 15.5"d, Condition: Excellent, Circa: 1880's.
