What a wonderful piece of folk art. This large scene was created by using pyrography, which is the art of decorating wood with burn marks by heating the tip of a metal object. The artist created an amazing scene highlighting the great outdoors. There is a large trout leaping out of the stream with a black bear in the background. Notice the log cabin and variety of out buildings. Pine and fir trees are scattered in the foreground with tall majestic mountains in the background. The wide frame is oak. The scene is very detailed and extremely well executed. The wood and frame is in excellent original condition. 44.5"h X 62.75"w X 2"d, Condition: Excellent, Circa: 1920-1940.
