This pressed tin or steel train is a ride-on toy by Steelcraft. These were designed for a child to sit on top of the engine’s cab. The round smoke stack was the steering wheel. The engine model is 1501 and measures 28” long. There is a freight car that measures 24” long and is designed to attach to its corresponding engine. The freight car model is 1515 and has moveable doors. The words “Railway Express” is present on the side of the freight car. Ride-on toys were the rage in the 1930’s and this is in good, unrestored condition. The set is extremely well built. The engine is missing its 2 small front wheels. The freight car is missing one of its moveable doors and one wheel. What a wonderfully nostalgic toy that can be lovingly restored or enjoyed for its present used condition. 10"h X 28"-52"w X 8"d, Condition: Good, Unrestored, Circa: 1930's.
