Here we have, a very nice, brass inkwell with a porcelain liner from the mid 1860's.
Excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, or repairs.
The urn shaped well is attached to a square base, and has a lid with the white insert.
Looks to have been cleaned sometime in its past, but this is how I got the piece.
It also has a wooden, Hunters Crow Quill pen to go with it.
The quill pen is a newer piece, but early 1900's I believe.
The inkwell measures 5" high and is 5 1/2" square at the bottom plate, and the insert is
1 1/2" high, and 1 3/8" wide.
There are no makers marks that I could find!
Great inkwell to add to a collection!!
