Here we have, a very nice Native American, stone gorget.
It is from the collection of Cowan Hood, who was written about in Who's Who.
Two holes for the rawhide strap, or beaded necklace it hung on.
Very nice piece, but does have a flake off the back side, which is shown in the photos.
It is in a display box, with the stickers for the collection it came from and where it was found.
Found in Greenville Co., Va.
It measures 3 1/8" long, 2 1/4" wide, and is 1/4" thick.
It has a serrated edge on the flat edge, and two drilled holes.
Great piece, from a well known collector. Nice addition to a collection of Native American artifacts!
