Here we have, a very nice Native American carved stone axe or battle club.
It is mostly round, but the short end has an edge, with the longer round end being blunt
like a club end.
Full groove going all the way around the piece, as you can see.
Looks to be granite, and it has a very smooth finish.
Lots of work went into the making of this piece, with the granite being a very hard rock,
and shaping it had to take a very long time.
The groove is ridged on both sides, which is raised about 1/4" or so, and is 1 1/2" wide.
This was dug in the western part of N.C. or eastern part of Tennessee according to the person
that I purchased it from. He has a very large collection.
Great piece of early Native American work.
Nice piece to add to a collection of Native American artifacts!!
