Here we have, a very nice, hand carved, Native American, soapstone bird figure pipe. It is in very good condition, with only one chip on the small end where the pipe went at the tail. Nicely done, with a very smooth finish, and shaped like a duck or water fowl. It measures 3 1/8" high, 6 1/8" long, and is 1 7/8" wide at the widest. Light colored stone, with lots of colors. The head has a cut in mouth and eyes, with lines running out from the eyes, and carved wings, and tail feathers. The pipe bowl is 3/4" high and 1 3/16" wide. Flat bottom for setting it down. He didn't tell me where this came from, but most likely from the eastern states, seeing that most of all his items are eastern U.S. Great piece to add to a Native American collection, or pipe collection!
