Here we have, a very nice, mid to late 1800's lance tip or spear tip. It is in great condition, with a few marks on the blade edges here and there. Look like tool marks, but not really sure. It measures 9 3/4" long, and is 1 1/4" wide at the blades widest. No markings on the blade as to maker, but the previous owner had an ID tag on it, so I left it there. Well taken care of, the metal is still clean with no rust. The inside of the piece has some wooden pieces still inside, from the shaft, and a little surface rust. This is from the large collection that I have been purchasing the military items I am listing, and it dates to the mid to late 1800's. The blade has four edges, which aren't sharp. Made to puncture and tear the victim. Great piece of early military history to add to a collection!!
