Here we have, a beautifully done, embossed leather salesman's sample saddle. Excellent condition, with the leather nice and supple. It has a few small dry cracks on one or two edges, but after applying saddle soap to keep the leather soft, it softened it back up. Looks great, with the embossed or stamped pattern on the saddle, and stirrups and the under part below the saddle. The underneath part of the saddle is cow hide with the fur, as seen in the last photo. A couple of the leather strings are missing pieces, as you can see in the photos, but you have to look to see them. I made the stand to show it, so overlook the 2x4 and board. Just for display! I can't find any makers marks, but this is a nice older piece. Took a lot of workmanship and time to make this beautiful piece. The detail is superb, and the edges are all leather string. Check out the stirrups. You can see how large the piece is by me holding one in my hand. It measures 9 1/4" long, 13" high from the stirrup, and is 9 1/2" wide at the stirrups, and 5 1/2" wide underneath the saddle. Leather wrapped stirrups and all, this is one beautifully done saddle. Great for a sample collection, or western collection!
