Here we have, a very nice, unusual wooden box. It is all hand done, with the metal straps, hinges, and all the metal work was made from some metal, and put on the box with tacks. The tacks go through the wood and are bent to hold the straps on. The hinges are hand curled with rivet pins through them, and the hasp and loop are hand done also. The loop for the lock is a large carter pin, put through the wood and bent on the inside. Nice, hand carved flower on all four sides and the top center, with the edge treatment done with what looks like the end of a small three sided file. Only thing I can think of to get that type of three sided decoration. The lid is hinged in the center, not the back, and has one of the handle loops missing. It measures 4" high, 7 1/2" long, and is 4 1/2" wide. Looks to be maybe Walnut, but not really sure. The four feet are put on with small nails or tacks, and it kind of wiggles when setting flat. One foot is shorter than the other three. Nice piece of either Tramp Art, or Fold Art. Great for a collection!
