Here we have one for the books. It is a 2 qt. Fire King covered casserole dish, with a nice, blue iridescent finish. This piece is marked on the base, with the Fire King logo, but it isn't in the Fire King book, and I can't find any reference to any being made with this type of finish. First one I have ever seen! Great rainbow effect on the iridescence, with a multicolored set of rings going around the bowl and lid. The bowl has a gold decoration around the rim and on the handles. This may be a one of a kind, or maybe a test sample! If anyone has any information on this piece, it would be appreciated, just to know if anyone has ever seen or had another. Not a flashed on iridescence, seeing that I cleaned it with a very strong cleaner, and no iridescence came off. If it were flashed on, it would rub off very easily. No chips, cracks, or repairs, but there are some rubs and scratches from use over the years. It measures 5" high with the lid, 10" wide, and has a 6" base. Very nice, and unusual piece of Fire King!! Beautiful piece to add to a collection!!
