A lovely Still Life of Spring Daffodils, oil on canvas by listed artist Mary Gine Riley (1883 - 1939). Smithsonian recognized, this piece was painted by Ms. Riley sometime in the 1920's. Depicting traditional Spring flowers, it measures approximately nine and one half inches by seventeen and one half inches. Beautifully framed, it is signed in the lower right hand corner by the artist and is ready to hang and in excellent condition.
A pupil of Birge Harrison and Henry B Snell, Riley lived most of her life in Washington DC. She was a member of the Society of Washington Artists, the National Association of Women Painters and Sculptors, and the American Federation of Arts.
