This rarely found American made toy phonograph dates from 1915 to 1918. It was made by the Jeannette Toy & Novelty Company of Jeannette, Pennsylvania. At this time there were only a few American manufacturers of toy phonographs; the majority of them were imported from Germany. This little phonograph has a metal body and mechanics; the body is painted, the turntable has the original felt, and comes with the original key which fits through the hole in the turntable in order to wind the spring for playing. It plays nicely and has fairly good sound which comes out through the grill in the front; the dimensions are 6 1/2" in height and 8" x 7 1/2". Here's a fun and interesting piece of American history for your collection and the record is included!
