Here's a couple of items rarely seen in the market today for obvious reasons; mostly in that they are no longer used! At the time they were made back in the early 1900's, the "baby" cups were ever so popular and came in all kinds of designs and materials. This particular one is porcelain and came from Germany, the center of porcelain production from the 19th to the 20th century; most pieces were stamped "Germany" as is this piece. The cup is beautifully detailed with raised letters and gold décor that was all done by hand and the cup is in near mint condition. The little bootie that comes with it was also made in Germany at about the same time, and was a souvenir item found in the tourists hotels and shops. Note its' lovely flowers in relief as well as the hand decorated details; it is also in near mint condition. The Baby cup measures 2 3/4" in height and is 2 1/2" in diameter, while the Bootie is 3" in height, 2 3/4" in length, and 1 1/2" in width. They both make a charming addition to any collection!
