Here's a great little hand toy dating around 1920/30 and was most often found as a penny toy at the carnival or circus.
The monkey, which is made of a hard composition material and painted, is attached to a metal spring, which climbs up or down the metal rod depending on which direction it is held. The handle and knob at either end are made of wood and painted. In great condition considering usage, it measures 19 3/4" in length, and is quite a fun piece to play with!
