This interesting little coin bank dates around 1900. The building is of unknown provenance, but could possible be that of a synagogue and the bank used for charity purposes; in other words, the owner would save coins in it to be given at a later time to the synagogue. It is made of cast iron and has a gilt finish on it; the condition is good for a piece of this age and use. The dimensions are 3" in height; 2 3/8" from front to back, and 1 1/2" in width from side to side.
