Here is another of the small ring/trinket boxes similar to that of UJ-312. Popular during the late 1800's into the early 1900's, these little ornate "caskets" as they were called, held the cherished rings or small pins, etc. and decorated the top of the ladies dresser. This particular one is made of cast metal in an Art Nouveau style depicting roses and leaves, and has a padded silk liner on both top and bottom. It measures just 1 7/8" in height, 2 1/2" in width, and 2" in depth, and is in good condition for it's age and use.
