Here is a beauty of a "scuttle' mug, a design not often seen today. Made in the shape of a coal scuttle with a sea motif of coral (handle) and shells (body), and hand painted in iridescent colors of "mother of pearl", this was made in Germany around the turn of the 20th century as indicated by the stamp on the bottom. It measures 5 1/2" in width; 3" in depth; and 4 1/2" in height, and is in excellent condition. This is a real treasure for the collector of shaving mugs!
