This is an authentic picture frame that was made just following World War I, for portraits of those serving in that war in the Navy. It is composed of cast iron with reliefs of the American flag with an anchor and bugles on the top, and several ships on the bottom. The finish is the original enameled white with highlights of red and blue; note that it appears to have a light cream color, which is simply aging. The frame is in good condition with a little wear on the edges, but overall a fine looking piece. It measures 9" in height by 6 1/4" in width. A great piece for the collector of picture frames or WWI memorabilia!
