SALE! 35% OFF! Offered is an interesting vintage brooch we have been holding for a while. We have been trying to figure out exactly what its purpose is. Our conclusion is that given its heavy appearance, it is a fur or coat brooch. The style also is a little elusive and we decided upon "industrial." Two squares on point (or diamonds) are attached. On a metal, tin-like and lightweight, beaded platform sit two square blocks in a caramel tone with dogtooth holds. These appear to be resin, or whatever the early version of that would be. The blocks certainly add dimension as they sit about 5/8" tall. Our best guess is this piece is from the '40's. It has a c-clasp. We have wiped the piece, but did not want to do anything more drastic because we like the patina of the tin-like metal. Although this looks heavy it is not. It is less than 2 ounces. It measures 4" long x 2 1/4" wide and 5/8" deep. Please Note: The c-clasp really should be tightened as the pin won't stay set. Original listing price $25. Item j2008a
