Offered is a vintage brooch in the shape of a broom or whisk. We think this is a strange little thing and we wonder about its purpose. Without a doubt, it is functional. It has tiny red plastic "sticks" housed in a silver tone head and the broom (whisk) handle serves as the brooch pin. So, was this meant to be worn to the office and if one needed to brush dust or crumbs away, one merely unpinned the brooch and used it? Or was it meant as a gift for an office associate as a reminder of the job done? It has a swing clasp. It measures 4" long and 3/4" across fanned. There is no mark. The back of the silver tone cover is dented and we cannot decide if that was deliberate or not. Original listing price $16. Item j10547a
