SALE! 15% OFF! Offered is an antique baby book started at the birth of a baby girl in 1901. Somehow, there is nothing more poignant than vintage baby books. This example has a forest green cover with purple pansies and gold script. It is titled Baby's Life A Record of Our Baby. It was printed in Bavaria and distributed by E P Dulton. We know from the first page this is a record of Kathyrn Fenton Glover born October the thirtieth at one a.m. in the year nineteen hundred and one at 428 Chicago St Elgin Ill. The book is illustrated in color by Harriett M Bennett and she has done a lovely job. The sweet renderings are of children at various activities and depict children in that late Victorian and early Edwardian style that has held its appeal all these years. The prints are accompanied by poems. If one would wish, these pages would be beautiful framed; there are 8 framable pages measuring 8 x 10. Someone, we assume Kathryn's mother, filled in many of the blank baby events in a nice cursive hand. She took her time and her love for her child is evident. This is in very good vintage shape. The inside pages are without foxing, tears or stains. PLEASE NOTE: the front cover has a couple less than pea size splotches near the bottom. The pages are loose from the spine once the book is opened. Original price $45 Item 72157a Lot 11/1/7
