SALE! 15% OFF! Offered is a pair of early 20th Century ladies boots or shoes. In brown leather, these are lace up style. These are a good, sturdy pair borrowing from the men's look. They are stamped as "Godman." An internet search indicates that Godman shoes were manufactured in Ohio and before WWII were a well-known brand. We found details on one of the manufacturing plants, the obituary of H C Godman and ads for the shoes. It appears they date from the early 1900's at least through the 1930's. We believe this pair is from prior to 1920 given that women's shoes transitioned once skirt hems raised. The rubber (?) heels are marked Godman with a man on a flying carpet with additional information we can't read. Inside the shoe it is stamped Godman and 450 11597--but no size. The brown laces are in good shape, we are unsure if they are original. Details: 1 3/4" heel; 8 3/4" tall including the heel; 3" instep; 11" outer length. These are in good shape, the leather is not cracked or distressed, we do note a scraped area on the right inner toe. Item 72146a Lot 8/1/6
Gender: Female, Age Group: Adult, Color: Brown, Size: Sm/Mdm
