Fantastic 1940 Era Dance Dress in Black Velvet and Red Gray Plaid
RESERVED for Catherine LAST CALL! 40% OFF! We are pleased to offer this fantastic 1940 era dance dress. Its most striking feature is the combination of black velvet and a silky plaid in red, yellow, black, and gray. The bodice is in the velvet. It has a scoop neckline , ruched shoulders leading to cap sleeves. Below the waist line begins the plaid banded skirt interrupted by another band in the black velvet. A huge 20" floppy velvet bow appears at the left side attached to the 2 3/4" band. Then the rest of the gathered skirt is in the plaid. The fabric for the plaid in to stiff like a taffeta but silky--most likely a rayon or nylon--which gives it an easy drape from the gathered waist. Details: 10"size zipper; 35" bust: 27 1/2" waist; 53" hip (spread); 56 1/2" shoulder to hem; 16" shoulder to waist (we think this is a wee short-waisted). We found no tears and no stains. There is a small repair a the right front waist seam where the seam opened. This item has not been cleaned, but has no unusual odor. Item 6616a
