SALE! 10% OFF!
Fabulous vintage find--a 1950 1960 era long jacket with matching skirt. To top it off is a detachable fur collar. The fabric is a nubby, tweed-like blend (this was prior to content label requirement). It presents an aura of importance and confidence. The collar is light colored-longer fur, but soft. It hooks at the front for positioning at the throat. It is 4" wide and 26" in circumference. The long jacket is double-breasted with 6 faux wood plastic buttons (see condition report below). It has a jewel neckline which can be worn without the collar. The raglan, long sleeves are 22" from natural shoulder. The 32" long jacket has deep back pleats. There are lined side slash pockets. The straight skirt is also lined and closes at the side with a 7" metal zipper. It is lined as is the jacket. The jacket carries a label Evans Chicago. Those from the Chicago area will know the importance of that label. Evans Furs was a premier "retailer of luxurious furs." Its website indicates that due to the anti-fur movement of the '70s and the warmer weather, the Chicago stores were closed in 1998.
Size: no size labels. See measurements noted above. The following measurements were taken lying flat and doubled. Jacket--20" pit to pit for 41" chest as buttoned; 40" at waist as buttoned; 42" hip. Skirt--28" waist; 40" hip; 25 1/2" long to 1 1/2" hem
Condition: good vintage--no stains, no holes. Note--the top left button is in the pocket--needs to be re-attached. The next button could use some reinforcement (we can do re-attachment upon request). Note-the nubby fabric is more loosely nubby in some areas--where wear would be evident. It may appear to be ever-so-lightly yellowed at neckline. This has not been cleaned--no unusual odor.
Price: $110 #5514b This is bulky as folded and will require a larger box which will affect shipping costs, especially to the west coast. All fashions are rolled for shipping.
